At Cleavers we pride ourselves on personally knowing all our suppliers. We've visited the farms and seen how our animals are reared. We've also insisted all our farmers satisfy the highest possible organic inspection standard. They must be "fully certified" by an AQUIS approved inspection authority, which means they've undergone rigorous approval procedures and can guarantee the authenticity of their meat. Our animals, therefore, have been raised on pastures totally clean of any chemicals (no herbicides or pesticides); have been raised without the use of antibiotics or growth hormones and have eaten only certified organic foodstuffs.
 




Rearing animals the organic way demands a little more time, care and space. As our animals are predominantly left to graze and forage for their own feed it's crucial a natural food supply can be found in abundance and that pastures are not overgrazed.

So our chickens, for example, are left to grow at nature's pace, taking 95days to reach maturity, unlike caged battery farmed hens that are fully formed in just 28days.
 




At Cleavers we only handle organic produce so we can guarantee the authenticity of our product from paddock to plate.
